Wholesale propane prices are dependent upon the price of crude oil as well as the price of natural gas. Other pricing considerations are the proximity of supply, seasonality and the volumes purchased. All these considerations go into the eventual pricing of consumer propane prices. The wholesale price is significantly cheaper than the consumer price due to the volumes purchased by wholesalers. The wholesale price of propane was 0.78 as of July 19, 2024.
